The People's Liberation Army ZTZ-99B (also designated as the Type 99B) is China's newest heavy main battle tank variant. It was first unveiled during China's Victory Day parade in September 2025.
Evolving from the lineage of the Type 99 and 99A, the ZTZ-99B functions less like a traditional "steel monster" and more like a sophisticated, network-centric combat node. It is specifically engineered to dominate high-altitude, extreme-cold, and mountainous conditions, such as the Tibetan Plateau and the Himalayan frontier.
