HMS Kent was built in the 1920s for the Royal Navy. She was a heavy cruiser. The Kent class is a subtype of County class cruisers. Upon completion, the ship was sent to China. HMS Kent was sent in late 1939 to the eastern Indian Ocean to participate in the hunt for German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. She was then re-assigned to the Indian army escort mission, she was transferred to the Mediterranean in mid-1940, but shortly after arriving was torpedoed, and then repaired. After the repair she carried out service to the local fleet and intercept enemy fleet guarding tasks. The ship retired in 1946 in 1948 she was dismantled sold.
