The Indianapolis is molded in light gray. The lower hull is molded in red and the display stand, propellers and shafts, smaller caliber guns, and other small details are molded in black.

USS Indianapolis served as the flagship for the 5th Fleet under command of Vice Admiral Raymond Spruance and supported major actions in the Pacific. March 1945 she was seriously damaged in a Kamikaze attack and later returned to action. She carried a special cargo to Tinian Island for the 509th Bomb Group's atomic attacks on Japan. Finally she was sunk enroute from Guam to Leyte by a Japanese submarine.
