Item: 39106 M16A2 Entered service in the 1980's chambered to fire the standard NATO cartridge. First version to feature the select fire 3 round burst control. Still seeing widespread use in US Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force, although no longer in heavy use in the US Army and Marine Crops. Front grip changed from the triangular shape to tubular.

Officially licensed by Colt®...This M16 model is part of a series of detailed, realistic, 1/3 scale, miniature Military rifles. Each includes a display stand that can hold more than one rifle; horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Each with a distinct gift box. Photographs do not do justice to the engineering and accuracy in each of these pre-built, pre-painted Colt firearms. Part of a museum quality series "Platinum Collectibles Assembled Models".
