MRC Platinum Series

Everything About them is For Real

Building on our 50 years of experience, MRC Platinum SeriesMRC engineers aimed to create a locomotive that was uniquely detailed yet affordable for most railroaders. Using brass locomotives as our benchmark we emulated their fine features such as the exquisite detailing, the use of a high quality 5-pole motor, and finely detailed machine-cut parts that would make a locomotive superior. We wanted it to be as close to a brass loco as possible, which would set it apart from all others in the market place.

MRC Platinum SeriesKeeping in the tradition of the highly detailed brass locomotives we created our own tooling from scratch. We took pains to ensure that all parts were highly detailed and within scale. Even the roof fans look genuine with a separation between blades.

The motor however, was another key area in the development of the MRC F7A locomotive. Naturally it had to be a 5-pole skewed armature motor, but we went a bit further. MRC Platinum SeriesUsing our fifty years experience creating powerful train controls, MRC’s engineers designed our F7A motor with its own unique characteristics including unprecedented slow speed control and awesome pulling power, even on steep grades. Coupled with our newly designed Power Drive Transmission and all wheel pick up, this locomotive will have the performance characteristics sought after by railroaders.

MRC Platinum SeriesOther features that make the Platinum Series a must-have for model railroaders are the highly detailed machine cut brass horns, stainless steel side grille and metal grab irons. The locomotive also includes a detailed cab with clear windows, engineer figure and control panel. The wheels are blackened metal along with frame mounted couplers. Also included is an attractive complimentary Platinum Series pin with every locomotive.

Each road name is available in two different road numbers. The initial road names offered are Santa Fe 300, 300C; New York Central 1830, 1650; Southern Pacific 6262, 6264; and Burlington Northern 758, 759. An undecorated version is also available. The locomotives will be available with or without a MRC Platinum Seriesdecoder installed.

Combining our know how with years of research we created an extraordinary line of locomotives, the Platinum Series, unrivaled by any other engine available today in its class.
