First, it is able to continuously and more accurately read the condition of the battery during the fast charge cycle without having to pause periodically to detect delta peak. In this way it is able to fully charge the battery much faster while avoiding over charging. This smoother charging process helps insure that the battery has a longer run time, is conditioned properly and lasts longer. Both the charger and battery remain much cooler while charging. Again, this helps prevent damage to the battery and extends battery life. It also means that the Super Brain charger can be used immediately after completing a charge. This improved heat management allows the SuperBrain to be used all day. Finally, the new design allows the 819 Super Brain to be more compact than previous chargers. Operation of the 819 Super Brain is very simple and completely automatic. The charger is first plugged into an AC outlet or connected to a 12 volt DC power source. Fast charging commences as soon as the battery to be charged is connected. The 819 Super Brain's patented Micro Peak Detection technology continuously monitors the status of the battery insuring a linear, uninterrupted fast charge. The SuperBrain's pilot light will blink after the quick charge is complete to indicate the unit has gone into trickle charge mode and the battery is ready for use. If the battery is left connected to the charger it will continue to trickle charge for up to 90 minutes. A safety timer in the charger will stop the fast charging process after 40 minutes if it has not detected a delta peak.
