Vertol: A One-of-a-Kind HelicopterThe Vertol is a fabulous scale model of a tandem rotor helicopter in use by the U.S. Marines and the Japanese self-defense Force. You won't find another model helicopter in mass production with multiple blade tandem rotors, a toothed belt drive system, and a detailed fiberglass reinforced plastic (F.R.P.) fuselage other than Hirobo's Vertol.
The Vertol is designed to use a single.35 to .46 engine driving both the front and rear rotors through a toothed belt. The tension on the belt is adjustable. The chassis is a remarkably light aluminum frame upon which all mechanical parts rest. The tandem rotor drive system is built using an autoration clutch as standard equipment, as well as a control mixing system to let a 5- channel R/C system work at its best efficiency with 1 to 3 gyros. The three bladed flybarless rotor heads are both stable and realistic in flight.
The F. R. P. body is remarkably lightweight but well detailed. Accessory parts and decals in the kit plus detailed instructions will let you complete a truly flyable, unique and attractive model helicopter.
