SST Eagle Freya EX

SST-Eagle Freya EX

To balance out the the smooth lines and aerodynamics of this excellent machine are a new lower landing gear assembly and FRP Cabin with a Carbon Fiber windshield. The popular "WC" style graphics finish off the exquisite gel coated cabin making the Freya EX as beautiful to admire as it is to enjoy flying it.

Based on the winning WC99 frame design, this updated frame design uses the DTDS main gear conversion (Driven Tail Drive System) found on the standard Freya mechanics. Included in this new main frame package are a two piece full enclosure fan shroud, carbon collective pitch levers, EX machined aluminum X levers, Machined aluminum elevator assembly, CNC Machined main and second gears, all metal swashplate, and plenty of platforms to mount all types of radio gear. Another difference is use of the simplified Freya collective system.

An all metal EX tail case is included as standard equipment to support all tail gear box shafts and bearings. Carbon fiber tail pitch system mounts replace the metal brackets to ensure rigidity and alignment through all aspects of use. The tail pitch slider and lever are right off the Freya so tail control is precise and resistant to induced "slop". A triple bearing tail set up for the blade grips is also used and Carbon Fiber sealed tip 90mm tail blades are included to handle the load and keep the tail where any pilot wants it. Light weight hollow FRP WC style tail fins smooth out the aesthetics.

This is the same head previously used on the WC 99, SSR-V. This fifth generation head is longer bolt hole to bolt hole to maximize rotor disk diameter without having to run excessively long rotor blades. All components are made of machined aluminum and anodized blue so beauty and form are in balance. Larger diameter thrust bearings are added to the blade grips so collective pitch inputs are precise and smooth under load. A shorter center hub is also used to enhance stability for the discriminating contest or sport pilot. At the beginning of the rotor head's capabilities are a machined aluminum swashplate and washout assembly to ensure all control inputs are transferred properly to the head.
