These Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, used by the USAF and CIA, have been in the news lately surveying the crippled nuclear plants in Japan. These specialized aircraft have also seen action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Platz of Japan pioneered this 1/72 scale scale model category.  A pleasure to assemble and loaded with precision detail, they make an exceptional addition to any aircraft collection.

Initially conceived in the early 1990s for reconnaissance and forward observation, most were upgraded to carry and fire missiles and other munitions. From the very first Predator to the recent introduction of the Global Hawk, this series is up to the minute.

The Global Hawk is typical of the detail that has made these UAV kits so popular. It is loaded with finely created panel lines and rivet markings. The landing gear, bay doors and sensors are uncannily realistic, as are the Cartograf decals. The model has a 21.8” wingspan and the unique fuselage has been perfectly contoured to match the original.
